December 10th meeting.

Our last meeting before Xmas - and what a terrific meeting it was. Four solid speeches. Three from our newer members - all them proving how well they are doing. We heard about stress, about running a marathon (and the stress involved!) and the wonders of scuba diving. In addition we had an experienced speaker giving us a viewpoint on the rites of passage at Christmas. The impromptu speaking featured topics of a seasonal nature and gave everyone an opportunity to speak. Excellent chairing from our president meant that our last meeting left us feeling really good, and excitedly looking forward to the January meetings. Our unique combination of experience, youth and vitality, innovation and friendly support makes us a super club to join. Monday 24th November

Another meeting, and another success! Tonight's meeting was chaired by Simon whose safe hands guided us through the meeting very well and introduced our three speakers, who spoke at different levels ensuring interest, and entertainment. The topics session was chaired by Gerard who took us into a journey to have a little look at the brighter side of life, Monty Python style! The topics allowed everyone to have a chance to speak, and to be appropriately challenged in the supportive atmosphere. Croydon has developed into a very special place for speakers. Yet again it was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. Some of us happened to finish the evening by going to one of the local pubs. It was a delight to meet by chance Ken - a previous president and long term supported of Croydon Speakers. Ken has commitments on a Monday that prevent him from attending, but it is always a pleasure to listen to him. One more meeting before the xmas break - and elsewhere on the website, there is news of a special evening in March. It all happens at Croydon. Make sure you put the dates in your diary. See you soon.
